This art doll wall hanging represents the desire we all have to live as authentically as possible. Her multicolored fabric body symbolizes all of the facets of her soul and she wouldn’t dream of hiding any part of herself, not even one thread.
Her head was made by putting apoxie clay on a ceramic doll head and molding it into the face I wanted her to have. I had to break off the back portion of the ceramic head so she could lay flat against the panel. After the apoxie clay hardened, I painted it with a metalic gold acrylic. The fibers for her body were then attached. Finally, she was attached to a wooden panel that was treated with acrylic inks and collage.
This piece was sent to Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga Springs, NY to be sold in their gift shop.
